About the Programme & Role Overview
We are launching an immersive 6-month travelling residency grant for Odisha Craft Odyssey (OCO) for artists, designers and researchers , offering an unparalleled opportunity to work in dynamic, culturally rich craft clusters and environments around Odisha. The programme aims to foster research creative exploration, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement across diverse locations.
Role:
We are seeking an organized and proactive Programme Coordinator to support the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of this residency. The coordinator will work closely with the BEADS team, MGM Foundation team, OCO appointed curators participating artists, and local partners to ensure a seamless experience throughout. This role involves substantial travel ,logistical oversight, relationship management and some amount of travel, making it ideal for someone passionate about art and design with experience in programme management and event coordination.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Design, Arts Management, or a related field. (Desirable)

Experience in programme coordination, arts administration, or event management.

Strong logistical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience managing budgets and working within financial constraints.

Ability to adapt to new cultural environments and work well under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management software.

Availability to travel extensively over the course of eight months.
Preferred:

Familiarity with Odia language is highly desirable as work will involve travelling in rural Odisha

Previous experience in coordinating art residencies or similar programmes.

Familiarity with the global art and design landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Programme Planning and Logistics
-
Assist in developing and refining the OCO residency’s travel itinerary across multiple cities/countries.

Organize accommodation, travel, and workspace arrangements for artists, staff, and mentors.

Develop contingency plans and ensure all travel complies with safety and security protocols.
2. Artist Liaison and Support
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, offering support and addressing queries throughout the programme.

Facilitate introductions to local artists, designers, and organizations, fostering productive collaborations.

Oversee orientation sessions and on-site briefings to help participants integrate into each location.
3. Event and Workshop Coordination

Schedule and organize workshops, presentations, and exhibitions for artists to showcase their work to local communities.

Coordinate logistics for public engagement events, including securing venues and materials.

Support documentation of workshops and exhibitions for reporting and promotional purposes.
4. Budgeting and Financial Oversight

Track and manage project expenses within the allocated budget.

Process reimbursements for travel, accommodation, and other residency-related costs.

Assist with reporting and documentation to meet the requirements of grant providers and stakeholders.
5. Marketing and Communications

Collaborate with the BEADS communications team to develop and distribute promotional materials for events.

Document the residency experience via photos, videos, and written content for social media and newsletters.
